Facebook starts content monetisation in Pakistan

Facebook launched monetisation feature “Stars Programme” for Pakistan

Facebook Stars will allow fans to buy and send digital goods to support creators, allow the Pakistani content creators to check their earnings by content type, manage their goals, and access other Stars settings.The feature is available on Facebook Reels, Facebook Live, on-demand videos, photos, and text posts.

Viewers can buy Stars and send them to you while you’re live or for on-demand videos that have Stars enabled. Facebook Stars will be available for all content creators with at least 1,000 followers online through the last 60 days.

Meta’s “Stars Programme” launched by Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari at Asia Pacific headquarters of Meta (Facebook), based in Singapore, where he also highlighted the potential of the IT sector in Pakistan and expressed the desire for enhanced cooperation between Meta and Pakistan.

A statement by the global tech giant said Facebook Stars will allow fans to buy and send digital goods to support creators, allow the Pakistani content creators to check their earnings by content type, manage their goals, and access other Stars settings.

The foreign minister, who was on a two-day visit to Singapore at the invitation of Singaporean counterpart, earlier met President Halimah Yacob and held a breakfast meeting with Foreign Minister Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan.

During his meetings with President Yacob and Foreign Minister Balakrishnan, the foreign minister emphasized the importance accorded by Pakistan to its relations with Singapore, which is a key partner in ASEAN.

The two foreign ministers noted the importance of regular interaction and dialogue, exchange of high-level visits, and promoting people-to-people contacts.
