Pakistan’s mission head in Kabul escaped an assassination attempt, his guard sustained three bullets in his chest and was rushed to the hospital. Ambassador Ubaid Nizamani, was targeted by an assassination attempt by armed assailants in Kabul.
Emergency health services have been called to the embassy to provide medical care, but it was not immediately clear what were the nature of injuries which were sustained by the injured official.
Pakistan has decided to call back the head of mission and other officials from Kabul temporarily.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the attack on the Pakistani Chargé d affaires in Kabul and paid tribute to the bravery of security guard who risked his life and took a bullet to save Ubaid.
H.E. Ubaid ur Rehman Nizamani has joined the Embassy of Pakistan,Kabul, as Head of Mission. Pakistan’s current mission head at the Kabul embassy is Ubaidur Rehman Nizamani who took charge on November 4.
