LHC orders NA speaker to administer oath to Punjab CM-elect Hamza Shehbaz tomorrow

Lahore-The Lahore High Court (LHC) has ordered National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf to administer the pledge to Punjab Chief Minister-elect Hamza Shehbaz.

Publicizing the reserved verdict on Friday, Justice Jawad Hassan ordered the National Assembly speaker to administer the pledge to Hamza Shehbaz at 1130 am on Saturday.
The court nominated Raja Pervaiz Ashraf as representative for the pledge. It ruled that it was the responsibility of the court to cover introductory rights.
The court had reserved the verdict after hearing arguments from both sides.
Expressing his views after the verdict, PML-N leader Attaullah Tarar said that moment’s verdict is major.”There has been no government in Punjab for the last 28 days.”
He said that the court had interpreted the constitution.
