Islamabad-The top military brass on Wednesday called on Prime Minister Imran Khan and bandied “ agreeable options” for the political parties as well as a “ face- saving agreement” for the government and the opposition to get out of the current political extremity.
According to sources in the PM House, the civil and military officers who attended the meeting milled over “ backdoor addresses” for the coming general choices. It was said that the huddle considered giving similar options to the government and opposition which would be respectable to both.
It was reported that the meeting also bandied the remaining term of PM Imran and addressed the opposition’s reservations on the government’s electoral reforms. The huddle also bandied the holding of the coming general choices and the duration of the interim government.
Sources said, according to the possible “ face- saving agreement”, general choices would be blazoned in the National Assembly as well as the four parochial assemblies.
The meeting also maintained that no plan would be finalised until the opposition agreed on it and that a “ complete package” would be presented in congress after both the government and opposition settled on the meditated matters. In case an agreement isn’t reached, the process of no- trust would move forward.
