China urges US, NATO to start dialogue with Russia to settle Ukraine conflict

Beijing -China has urged the United States and NATO to start result-oriented and peaceful dialogue with Russia for settlement of the Ukrainian conflict.

The demand was made by the Chinese President Xi Jinping during a video conversation with US counterpart Joe Biden.

The Chinese President said upholding of international law and adhering to the UN Charter are major principles that underpin China’s approach to the Ukraine crisis.

The US President expressed willingness to have candid dialogue and closer cooperation with China, stay committed to one-China policy, and effectively manage competition and disagreements to ensure steady growth of bilateral ties.

The two Presidents have in-depth discussion on China-US relations, the situation in Ukraine, and other issues of mutual interest.
