Election Comission restores Ishaq Dar as senator on SC order

Islamabad – The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) restored the membership of former finance minister Ishaq Dar as senator on the order of the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
A notification in this regard has been issued. His membership has been restored from March 9, 2018.
Meanwhile, the ECP has withdrawn its notification issued on June 29, 2018.
On December 22, a three-member bench of the Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed had dismissed a petition seeking disqualification of Ishaq Dar as a senator for being an absconder in a corruption case.
