Specially, Muslims observe Youm-e-Ashura, the tenth of Muharram, with due solemnity.

They pay homage to the supreme sacrifice which Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and his devoted companions rendered in Karbala.

The mourn begins from the first of Moharram every year, as per Islamic lunar calendar.

Pakistan witnesses mourning processions in all the cities and towns of the country.

Due to Coronavirus challenge, mourners comply with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the mourning processions to avoid spread of COVID-19.

Meanwhile, Ulema and Zakireen highlight the bright and candid teachings of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and various aspects of Karbala tragedy.

In connection with the 9th Muharram today, Taazia and Zuljinah processions will be taken out in different parts of the country in memory of martyrs of Karbala.

In the Federal Capital, the mourners will bring out main mourning procession along with Taazia and Zuljinah from Markazi Imambargahs G-6/2.

That will terminate at the same place after passing through the traditional route.

The government and security agencies have made elaborate security arrangements to avoid any untoward incident during the mourning processions.
