Chinese Foreign Ministry’s Spokesperson Zhao Lijian said during his regular briefing while responding to Indian foreign minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar’s statement.

The latter had issued statement on China’s military deployment along the border with India.
Moreover, the Indian FM also noted uncertainty over whether Beijing will fulfill its promise on troop reductions remains “a challenge” for relations between the two neighbours.
However, the spokesperson underlined China’s military deployment on the western section of the China-India border a normal defense arrangement. That aims at preventing and responding to the encroachment and threats of relevant countries on Chinese territory.
He further said that for a long time, the Indian side has continued to increase its military deployment in the Sino-Indian border areas.
He also mentioned India has continuously crossed the line and eroded Chinese territory.
Therefore, Zhao Lijian noted this as the source of tension on the Sino-Indian border.
Moreover, he said that China has always advocated a peaceful settlement of border issues through negotiations.
Besides, China does not support linking border issues with bilateral relations.
Meanwhile, Pakistan also remains disturbed due to incessant Indian violation of international law at the LoC and in IOJK.
