Pakistan observes International Day of UN Peacekeepers today.
The day aims to pay tribute to the uniformed and civilians personnel’s invaluable contribution to the work of the Organization.

Moreover, it also aims to honour peacekeepers who have lost their lives serving under the UN flag since 1948.
Meanwhile, Permanent Representative of Pakistan to United Nations, Ambassador Munir Akram issued message on the occasion,.
He paid tribute to all the peacekeepers, uniformed and civilians, who lost their lives in the service of the United Nations.
Furthermore, he mentioned deployment of over 4400 Pakistani peacekeepers, including young men and women in nine UN Missions around the world.
He said that despite facing unprecedented threats and challenges, they continue to serve with distinction.
