PM briefed on progress on manufacturing of electronic voting machine

PM briefed on progress on manufacturing of electronic voting machine in Islamabad today (Wednesday).

While speaking at the briefing, Prime Minister Imran Khan expressed the government’s commitment to introduce electronic voting machine to ensure transparency in the elections.

He also directed to introduce modern security features in the proposed machine.

He further said in the view of past experiences, it remains in the interest of democracy and the country to use electronic voting machine in election process.

Concerned staff briefed that electronic voting machine will help to make the voting process transparent and fair.

Besides, it will also secure results.

Moreover, they apprised the PM that Ministry of Science and Technology, COMSATS and NIE have jointly manufactured a machine.

They claimed encouraging results of the test.
