Pakistan Japan eye Information Communication Technology cooperation.

Both countries agreed on enhanced cooperation in the field of Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

They reached this understanding during a meeting between Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Syed Amin-ul-Haque and Japan Ambassador to Pakistan Kuninori Matsuda in Islamabad.

While speaking on the occasion, the minister said the government is taking steps to increase IT exports.

He further said ICT export remittances surged to 958 million US dollars.

Notably, it included export of Telecommunication, computer and information services.

Moreover, it witnessed a growth rate of 40 percent during July-December of the current financial year of 2020-21.

Meanwhile, Minister further said Pakistan greatly values its relations with Japan and wants to enhance its ties with Japan in all sectors.
