Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi begins UAE visit today (Thursday).

He has arrived in Dubai on two-day visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Pakistan’s Consul General in Dubai Ahmed Amjad Ali, senior officers of the embassy, and senior officials from the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs received the FM Qureshi at Dubai International Airport.

During the visit, Qureshi will hold discussions with the UAE leadership on all areas of mutual interest.

Both sides will discuss regional and global issues.

Moreover, he will also exchange views on bilateral cooperation, in particular trade, investment and the welfare of Pakistani diaspora.

He will also meet Pakistani diaspora and interact with local and international media.

This visit of the Foreign Minister goes in continuity of promotion of contacts between the two countries at higher level.

Meanwhile, the FM expressed Pakistan’s desire for reduction in violence and ceasefire in Afghanistan to take forward the peace process.

He expressed these views, in a televised message after talks with the Taliban delegation in Islamabad on Wednesday.

Furthermore, he said responsibility in this regard rests with all the stakeholders.

Shah Mahmood noted during the talks Taliban delegation showed their eagerness and seriousness for peace.

He said the Taliban delegation which will also meet Prime Minister Imran Khan has acknowledged Pakistan’s efforts for peace and stability in Afghanistan.
