Pakistan reports 3119 new COVID 19 cases and 44 deaths during the last 24 hours.

According to the latest statistics, 3,119 people tested positive for COVID-19 during the last twenty-four hours after conducting the tests of 41,115 people.

The figure of patients recovered from the virus has reached 352,529.

Forty-four more people died of Coronavirus in the country over the last twenty-four hours.

There are now 52,359 active cases in the country.

Meanwhile Punjab Healthcare Commission sealed 13 labs and collection centres.

Moreover, the PHC also suspended services of another for conducting diagnostic tests of Covid-19 against rules and regulations.

According to a spokesperson of PHC Amir Waqas, due to the ongoing second wave of the coronavirus, the PHC had carried out special inspects of 115 laboratories and collection centres.

They conducted inspection in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Multan, Sargodha, Sialkot and Sahiwal.

Out of these, seven centres of Rawalpindi and six in Multan were closed down.

On the other hand, Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmeen Rashid and Chief Secretary Jawad Rafique Malik jointly chaired an emergency meeting.

The meeting  reviewed the situation of coronavirus in Lahore after a rapid increase in the cases.

Furthermore, they reviewed, in detail, the situation regarding the rapid increase in the number of coronavirus cases in the city.

They issued directives to health authorities to immediately operationalize 300 high-dependency beds for serious patients at the Expo Center.
