He said that the international community has taken very seriously the dossier revealing with evidence India’s sponsorship of terrorism inside Pakistan.

He said the world has taken note of it.

Responding to a question, the DG ISPR reiterated CPEC a game changer for the region.

He said it is offering connectivity to the whole region and with that Pakistan becomes a connectivity hub for this whole region.

He said this is a game changer in the sense that this project has the potential to bring prosperity to this whole region by connecting everyone.

Maj Gen Babar Iftikhar said it is basically an economic project.

Divisions for the security of CPEC

To a question, DG ISPR said India is trying to harm CPEC not to stop progress and development of Pakistan, but also tarnish international image of the country.

He said Pakistan raised two divisions for the security of this project.

Other than that we have around nine regular regiments also protecting this corridor at various locations from wherever it passes through.

Besides, there are paramilitary troops which are also deployed to protect the corridor.

The DG ISPR said despite India’s best efforts, there has been a lot of objective analysis of what has been said in the dossier.

He said the objectivity of the debate around this dossier at international level is a major plus and we are going to take it forward from here.

Dossier to the P-5 countries

Major General Babar Iftikhar said the Foreign Office has presented the dossier to the P-5 countries and it has also been presented to the UN Secretary General.

He said we are going to take it to every possible forum.

He said it is an indigenous freedom struggle as it is not possible to sustain a freedom struggle for more than 70 years.

India is using social media as a tool

He said they are especially targeting the diplomatic, information, and economic, the military engagements on the Line of Control, financially and law fare domains to hurt Pakistan.

He said India is doing all this just to slow down the kind of progress and the kind of trajectory that Pakistan has for the future.

Replying to a question about growing strategic ties between India and the United States, Major General Babar Iftikhar said threat perception in our case is very clear as India is aiming at equipping itself with high-tech material.

He said the international community has to understand that any major disturbance in the balance of power in South-Asia will be a major disaster, not only for the region, but also for the rest of the world, so this balance of power must be maintained at every level.

Talking about securing western border with Afghanistan, Babar Iftikhar said there is not a single inch of land along the Western border which is not being manned by our soldiers.

He said we have fenced about 83 percent of the Pakistan-Afghan border and fencing of the entire border with Afghanistan will be completed by the end of this month.

Regarding Pakistan-Iran border, he said 30 percent of this frontier has been fenced so far and by December next year we will complete that also. He said it is going to stop the smuggling of goods and narcotics.
