Outgoing Naval Chief pays farewell call on Prime Minister

Outgoing Naval Chief pays farewell call on Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad today (Monday).

Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi paid a farewell call on the PM.

The Prime Minister appreciated the services of Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi for Pakistan Navy.

He wished him well.

On Saturday, Admiral Abbasi had paid  farewell call on Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Nadeem Raza.

During farewell meeting at Joint Staff Headquarters, CJCSC thanked Naval Chief for his national services.

He lauded his services to the nation during a long and illustrious career, according to an Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) press release.

Earlier, President Dr Arif Alvi has appointed Vice Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi as Chief of the Naval Staff.

He also promoted him to the rank of Admiral.

According to a Pakistan Navy press release, his promotion to the rank of Admiral will become effective from the date of assuming Command of Pakistan Navy.

The Change of Command ceremony will be held at PNS ZAFAR, Islamabad.

Vice Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi will succeed Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi who will relinquish the Command of Pakistan Navy on Oct 7,2020.

Currently, the Admiral is serving as Chief of Staff (Operations) at Naval Headquarters, Islamabad.
