President urges nation to follow SOPs against Corona

President urges nation to follow SOPs against Corona during Eidul Azha as well.

In his message on the eve of Eid-ul-Adha today (Thursday), President Dr. Arif Alvi has made this appeal.

He urged the nation to observe precautionary measures and follow Standard Operating Procedure during Eid Days to contain spread of Corona Pandemic.

He said that corona cases have significantly declined due to effective smart lockdown policies and discipline which the public observed.

The President asked the citizens to avoid going to crowds and cattle markets.

Dr Arif Alvi said more caution is required enable us to defeat the epidemic completely.

He said the government has adopted targeted smart lockdown and poor-friendly policies and provided financial assistance to deserving families at their door step through Ehsaas program so they could stay at home and follow SOPs.

He urged that people to observe social distance and wear masks during Eid prayers and sacrificing animals and shopping and avoid hand shaking and hugging.

He also asked the aged people to offer Eid prayers at home and avoid going to masques and gatherings as well.

On the other hand, the authorities concerned confirmed significant improvement in the number of recoveries from Covid in Pakistan.

As many as 246,131 Corona patients have recovered so far.

Moreover, 21,628 tests carried out during this period.

Now, the number of active COVID-19 cases in Pakistan stood at 25,347.

Meanwhile, the President House hosted a reception on Wednesday.

It held to recognize the services of the health workers, who had offered OVID-related duties at hospitals across the country.

President Dr Arif recognized the health workers as heroes for their dedicated services during the COVID-19.

He said by having overcome the pandemic, Pakistan would emerge as a stronger nation.
