Interior Minister asks people to act upon SOPs on Eidul Azha and Moharram.

Federal Interior Minister Ijaz Ahmed Shah made this appeal, while speaking after inauguration of a shelter home at District Headquarters Hospital in Nankana Sahib on Monday.

He emphasized the need for strict observance of precautionary measures against Covid-19 during Eid-ul Azha and Muharram-ul Haram.

He said the government will ensure implementation of the SOPs during Muharram-ul Haram.

The Minister said all necessary facilities will be provided the attendants of patients at the shelter home of the hospital.

He said Nankana Sahib will be made a model district.

On the other hand, Coronavirus has killed nearly 5600 people across the country so far, according to official data.

However, the number of recoveries from Covid-19 also continues to increase across the country.

As many as 205,929 patients so far recovered from the disease.

Meanwhile, 31 patients died of the virus during the last 24 hours.

That took the death toll to 5,599.

According to the latest statistics, 1587 new coronavirus cases reported in the country during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 265,083.

These include 113,007 in Sindh, 90191 in Punjab, 32,086 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 11,436 in Balochistan, 14,599 in Islamabad, 1,849 Gilgit Baltistan and 1,915 in Azad Kashmir .

Moreover, 19,108 corona tests carried out during this period.
