Coronavirus claims 105 more lives during last 24 hours across Pakistan.

According to the official figures, 73,471 patients have so far recovered from the disease.

The death toll from the virus stands at 3695 with 105 deaths reported over the last twenty-four hours.

24,599 corona tests carried out during this period.

3,946 new coronavirus cases have surfaced in the country over the last twenty-four hours.

It took the total tally to 185,034.

These include 68308 in Punjab, 71092 in Sindh, 22633 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 9587 in Balochistan, 11219 in Islamabad, 1326 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 869 in Azad Kashmir.

Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan directed to ensure finalization and implementation of SOPs regarding coronavirus.

He also recommended to to do so in consultation with the provincial governments in view of the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha.

He said this, while chairing a review meeting in Islamabad Monday on coronavirus situation in the country and the strategy adopted to curtail it.

The Prime Minister reminded people this year Eid-ul-Azha is coming in exceptional circumstances.

He said the prevailing situation demands concerned authorities to ensure SOPs expeditious devising and rigorous implementation to protect people.

Meanwhile, he also expressed satisfaction on measures taken to meet the needs of beds and oxygen.

Prime Minister said keeping in view the regional and international experience it has become clear that strategy adopted to control coronavirus in the country has yielded improved results.

Moreover, he also spoke on smart lockdown.

The PM said the involvement of local leaders and community should be ensured to implement this strategy.

Besides, he called for utilizing the services of Tiger Force to sensitizes people about smart lockdown and  assist the administration to achieve these aims.
