Speaker Punjab Assembly has summoned the provincial assembly session at a hotel in Lahore.
It will begin at 2:00 this afternoon.
In this regard, a spokesperson of the provincial Finance Department issued a statement.
He noted it for the first time, the Punjab govt had prepared budget proposals in consultation with all stakeholders.
Meanwhile, Sindh government announced to present budget for the next fiscal year on Wednesday.
Earlier, Federal Minister for Industries and Production Hammad Azhar presented the budgetary proposals in the National Assembly on Friday.
He called it a tax-free and relief-oriented budget for the next fiscal year with a total outlay of 7294.9 billion rupees.
It may add that tax-free here means no new tax imposed; otherwise taxes remain in place as usual.
However, Prime Minister’s adviser on Finance blamed Covid19 for inflicting Rs3000bn loss to national economy.
Dr Abdul Hafeez Sheikh termed the Coronavirus pandemic not an excuse as because brought difficult times for the country.
But, he and other high officials of the government claimed that the government provided relief to poor people in budget.
