PM to participate in Telethon transmission fund raising to fight COVID-19. 

Pakistan Television (PTV) Network will air a massive Telethon transmission today.

According to Senator Faisal Javed Khan, the government and private TV channels will launch the telethon for Corona Relief Fund.

The programme aims at sensitizing Pakistani citizens within the country and abroad to come forward in helping the countrymen in this testing time.

He said telecom companies are facilitating consumers to send SMS on 6677 to contribute their share in PM Corona Relief Fund.

Prime Minister will also participate in Telethon at PTV Network.

In a video message, he said due to vast number of affected persons, huge amounts will be required to help them.

He urged the philanthropists to actively participate in this fundraising campaign.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Imran Khan and US President Donald Trump discussed COVID-19 pandemic related challenge.

During their telephonic conversation they also discussed its implications on global economy, and ways to mitigate its impacts.

He conveyed sympathies and condolences on the loss of so many precious lives in the US due to coronavirus.

PM Khan also highlighted Pakistan’s efforts to contain the spread of the virus.

He underlined that the government had put together a 8 billion dollar package to support the affected people and businesses.

While thanking President Trump for the US support in the IMF and other fora, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that it would provide necessary fiscal space to Pakistan and help in mitigating the impact of COVID-19 pandemic.
