Millions send SMS to 8171 for help under Ehsaas Emergency Cash Program for deserving families.

Prime Minister Imran Khan launched SMS service 8171 to help deserving families benefit from Ehsaas Emergency Cash Program.

The government has announced to provide Rs12,000 cash grant under Ehsaas Emergency Cash Program formally launched on Wednesday.

Dr Sania Nishtar spoke to Radio Pakistan’s Program today.
She said this program has been launched for the deserving families especially the daily wagers facing financial problems due to coronavirus.

The Special Assistant said the deserving families will be able to draw the cash grant from Wednesday next. She said transparency has been ensured in the program by using the technology based system.

Sania Nishtar said we are ensuring there is no disruption in transportation of goods in order to ensure availability of essential commodities to the people.

She said the decision to extend the partial lockdown till 14th of this month has been taken to avoid the spread of coronavirus.

Earlier, she termed this 150 billion rupees program as the country’s biggest social protection program.

It aims at protecting the poor families facing financial problems due to coronavirus.

She said under this program, a cash grant of twelve thousand rupees will be given to the deserving families through a transparent mechanism.

She said the deserving families desiring to benefit from the program should send their national identity cards on the SMS code 8171, which will be activated today in the evening.

Sania Nishtar said that Ehsaas Ration Platform has also been launched to connect people wanting to donate food ration to those in need.

She said thirty five thousand deserving families and over six hundred donors have so far got themselves registered on the online platform.
