US representative Zalmay Khalilzad meets Pakistan Foreign Minister in Doha

US representative Zalmay Khalilzad meets Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood in Doha today.

During the meeting, US Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation Zalmay Khalilzad apprised FM  Shah Mahmood Qureshi of the latest situation. .

He apprised the FM of the latest position regarding peace agreement between the United States and the Afghan Taliban.

Meanwhile, Shah Mahmood Qureshi said Pakistan hopes for intra-Afghan dialogue after today’s deal.

He said Afghanistan will be required assistance of the international community for reconciliation and rehabilitation.

The Foreign Minister said Pakistan will continue its efforts for durable peace and stability in Afghanistan.

Indonesia appreciates Pakistan role

Meanwhile, Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi has appreciated Pakistan’s role in facilitating the Afghan peace process.

She praised while talking to Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi in Doha.

They met ahead of the peace signing agreement between the US and the Afghan Taliban.

During the meeting, matters pertaining to Afghan peace process, continuing violence against Muslims in India and overall peace and security situation of region came under discussion.
