CNG stations reopened across Sindh

As per the schedule, the stations would remain open till 8:00 am on Friday.
The SSGC had followed the 12-hour schedule during the past weeks because of shortage in gas supply.
Shortage has become a eoutine in winter season.
How transporters react
Meanwhile, All Pakistan Compressed Natural Gas Association (APCNGA) and All Karachi Transport Ittehad (AKTI) had announced to hold a protest against it.
On 11 January 2020, they announced they would protest at the office of SSGC in Karachi over continuous closure of CNG stations.
Irshad Bukhari of AKTI had said that Sindh-produced gas fulfils the gas needs of 70 percent of the country.
But SSGC remains bent upon destroying businesses in the province.
He lamented that the SSGC shut down gas supply in the province instead of increasing production. .
Moreover, Bukhari said that they would hold petroleum ministry responsible for any repercussions if the current situation does not improve.
The APCNGA also said that the government was not fulfilling its promises.
It lamented that now it becme a routine that they announce closure hours before it.
For transporters and ordinary citizens, CNG closure create problems.

CNG stations reopened after closure

Due to low pressure and shortage because of increased consumption, the SSGC and SNGPL suspend gas supply to many categories of consumers.

Specially, the CNG stations supply remain suspended due to preference to domestic consumers.

For instance, in Dec 2020, CNG stations closed within 9 hours after resumed sell in Karachi.

According to SSGC, it would announce new schedule for reopening of CNG keeping in view gas pressure.

Due to low gas pressure, gas supplying company prefers supply to domestic and industrial consumers.

Hence,  it has to close down CNG stations.
