Former chief justice of Bangladesh Mahmudul Amin Choudhury laid to rest today.

Retired chief justice Choudhury passed away on Sunday night at the age of 82.

Meanwhile, Law Minister Anisul Huq has mourned the passing away of the retired chief justice.

The 11th chief justice of Bangladesh breathed his last at his Dhanmondi residence.

According to special officer of the Supreme Court Muhammad Saifur Rahman, funeral held at the Supreme Court premises at 10:30am today. 

However, burial takes place at the graveyard adjacent to Hazrat Shahjalal’s shrine in Sylhet.

Choudhury is survived by a son and two daughters.
